UAH Laser Propulsion Group - I wish I could spend a lot more time here. Thus far I have worked to bring an NdYAG into operation, and to get a force sensor usable within the vacuum environment. The 1st International Symposium on Beamed Energy Propulsion (ISBEP) was awesome! This is definitely the career path I want to follow. Unfortunately I don't get paid for this ( YET ) so I am having to take a job elsewhere involving experimental optical computers for the government\military.

Troop 803 Assistant Scoutmaster -
Any scouts that were present at my lecture last Monday and wish to complete the Radio requirements, contact me. I will also be doing Electronics, Electricity, Space Exploration, and Computers. Give me your requests. Check back here for additional information that may help you along.

College Life:
I graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.S.E. degree in Optical Engineering (December 2003).  In August of 1997 I earned my Amateur Radio License  (KF4TTC) and then upgraded in 2003 to an Extra Class license (AI4OE). The greatest thing that I am thankful for happened November of 1998, when I was baptized into Christ and thus began my Christian walk.  While in college I have been blessed with many wonderful lifelong friends, mainly from the Honor's program and Christian Student Organization (CSO).  Currently I am a member of SPIE (International Society For Optical Engineers), OSA (Optical Society of America) and the CSO at UAH (CSO). During the summer of 1996 I also attended the University of New Mexico as a part of an American Indian program called TRIBES.

Pre-High school Activities:
I have lived in the Huntsville / Madison county area most of my life. I went to McDonnell Elementary School in Huntsville from K-4 (1983 - 1988) (Hey Amber Babb, Joel Walters, Kevin Stott, Phillip Rodgers, Allison Davis, Philip Rideout, Javier Mancha, Anastacio Moncada, Marcus Spicer, Paula Haney, Veronica, Sonny, Bruno, Shane, Eli, and a bunch others that I'll add later, write me you guys! ), and then moved to Toney where I went to Madison Cross Roads Elem./Middle. I played viola and violin in the String Orchestra throughout middle school under the direction of Oscar Newman, along with alto-saxophone in the Sparkman High Marching Band under the direction of Don Peck. Also at MXR I played soccer for 2 seasons, baseball 1 season, and was selected for the Duke University TIP program.

High School Activities: (VISIT THE SHS CLASS OF 96 SITE)
I went to Sparkman High School from 1992 - 1996. While at SHS I played Alto-Sax and Guitar in the marching, concert, and jazz (Northwest Madison County Co-op Jazz Ensemble) band's, under the new leadership of Debbie Hutson. I ran in Track a season, and went to Washington D.C. with Close Up Foundation. Throughout all of these events I was constantly going to marching contests, and concert performances including a state and a national competition, not to mention all of the solo and ensemble competitions. I was Secretary in Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS), and was a member of National Honors Society, Beta Club, Science Club, Student Government Association, Computer Club, Indian Education, and Spanish Club.

Throughout my school life I also took part in many science related activities such as Science Fairs (multiple 1st, 2nd's, and HM's), Science Olympiad (HM), egg drops, Model Rocketry competitions (1'st), and a Checker Tournament (1st), I was a member of both the Space & Rocket Center, and Rockwell Explorer Posts, and of BSA Troop 86.

After being a Cub Scout, Webelos, Boy Scout, Order of the Arrow member, and an Explorer in two Explorer Posts, I was Honored with the Eagle Scout award in March of 1996. I am still an active Scout, and active in the Order of The Arrow, however due to school, I am unable to participate as much as I would like.
